The time has come for me to bid au revoir to the Secret Recipe Club.

A club I have been a part of for quite a number of years, and one I’ve enjoyed immensely.

Having been told I had Hashimoto’s (hypothyroidism) a few years ago, I made the big decision to focus on my health as naturally as possible - speaking with natural practitioners and through the goodness of seasonally grown organic food prepared as nutritionally as possible and with a whole lot of love.

“Let food be thy medicine”…. and all that stuff!

Secret Recipe Club - April

Say hello to Erin.

The creative lady behind the blog Making Memories With Your Kids where you’ll find loads of kid friendly recipes made alongside her two gorgeous children, in the hopes of providing other mum’s and dad’s with some kid friendly ideas of things to do.

I love that Erin takes every advantage possible to spend time passing on her love of cooking, baking and creating with her children as can be seen from her blog and recipes, which are filled with lots of love.

Autumn is now here in Australia and it’s time for all of my favourite foods, so when I saw this recipe, my decision for April's Secret Recipe Club recipe was made.  Yep, doesn’t take me long!

Say hola to Leslie!

A born and bred Southern Californian, however for the past 14 years has called Mexico home.

Growing up watching her grandmother make flour tortillas and her grandpa (the baker in the family) make his empanadas, Leslie developed her love of cooking from an early age and created the lovely blog La Cocina de Leslie as a way to capture both the traditional Mexican recipes and Mexican inspired meals she has made over the years for her family.

Luckily for me, La Cocina de Leslie is my Secret Recipe Club Blog for the month of March.

Say hello to Nicole.

Nicole is a  freelance writer hailing all the way from St Louis Missouri, where she raises 5 teenagers (yes you heard me…5 teenagers), all whilst sharing her love of home cooked, feel good family food on her blog Daily Dish Recipes.

Daily Dish Recipes was born in 2005 with the goal to provide her readers with easy, made from scratch, recipes they could cook at home.  God, I love this goal Nicole, as I’m a huge fan of people getting back into the kitchen, ditching the junk food and cooking from scratch.

So in honour of Nicole’s style of cooking and in honour of my grumbling tummy and in honour of my need for tote-able picnic food (now that Summer has hit Melbourne), my Secret Recipe Club recipe for this month is……

Say hello to Sid.

Sid is the ever so happy Danish/American cook, photographer and author behind the blog Sid’s Sea Palm Cooking:  I cook, therefore I am.

Sid loves having fun in the kitchen and warmly shares her food and recipes with friends (from her monthly tapas nights) and the blogging community as a whole.

I haven’t been to Denmark (yet!), but fall in love with the country every time I watch a Danish movie or read a book based in Denmark, so of course, I was going to pick one of her many delicious looking Danish recipes from her blog to be my Secret Recipe Club Dish of the Month.

Say hello to Sarah!

Sarah loves to bake (like me).   She is from Ontario, Canada (a country I hope to one day see soon, and a country where my niece Miss B is studying at university....well, she says she's studying...hehe).  Sarah fully admits to being a comfort eater (like me too!), and is the lovely lady behind the blog Things I Make for Dinnera place where she keeps weekly menu plans and showcases her newly tried recipes.

I love that Sarah and her husband lose weight and save money by cooking and eating at home (this made me laugh Sarah) and what put a big smile on my face is that she adores French food (ME TOO!!)  Things I Make for Dinner is my Secret Recipe blog for the month of October, and my recipe this month is a long-time favourite, yet one I rarely cook myself.  That's all changed now....

Secret Recipe Club - September!

Everyone, say hello to Sawsan!

Sawsan is an orthodontist by day, food explorer by night, is currently living the United Arab Emirates (an airport I know very well from my travels back and forward to Europe) and is the exceptionally talented lady behind the beautiful blog Chef in Disguise.  A blog filled with easy, authentic middle eastern recipes, packed full of season fruits, vegetables and spices.

On a personal note, I was so happy to find out Chef in Disguise was my Secret Recipe Club blog for September as I'm a huge, huge fan.  Sawsan's photography alone makes me smile, not to mention her authenticity which comes shining through the screen.  Such a joy!  So many recipes to choose from, but one in particular stole my heart.  A dish I grew up with (although maybe not so eloquently replicated by Sawsan).

Say hello to Avril!

Avril lives in New England, USA where she works as an elderly care provider, where she's the mother of two little girls and where she cooks and bakes like crazy for her blog Baking and Creating with Avril .

Avril's blog is filled to the brim with wonderful family friendly recipes made with love, igniting her dream of one day potentially opening up her very own bakery.  How exciting Avril.  Although the thought of bakers hours leaves me in a cold sweat!

Baking and Creating with Avril also happens to be my Secret Recipe Club blog for the month of August.

A 30 something fitness enthusiast, wine lover, marketing manager by day and food blogger by night.  In fact, she's the face (and fingers) behind the blog A Fit and Spicy Life, which happens to be my Secret Recipe Club blog for the month of July.

I just love Mellissa's tag line...."a lot of cooking, a little wine and workouts to keep it all inline".  What a gorgeous way to live!

Helen is from the North West of the UK.  She is a "massive foodie".  Loves travelling and caravanning with her family and is the creative mind behind the lovely family blog Casa Costello.  Casa Costello is filled with lovely family recipes, and is also where Helen runs her "Bake of the Week" posts.

Casa Costello also happens to be my Secret Recipe Club Blog for the month of May.  My favourite month of them all.  It just happens to fall in Autumn (my favourite season of them all).  It holds my birthday (my all time favourite date of them all), AND this year I'll be spending most of it in France.  So needless to say....I LOVE May..........and I LOVE this recipe......

Say hi to Nichole!

Nichole comes all the way from Baltimore and started cooking out of necessity (to stop her eating burnt food).  Don't you just love it!  She's also the mother of two cats and the brains behind the blog Cookaholic Wife, which just happens to be my Secret Recipe Club partner for the month of July.

The recipe I've chosen from Nichole's HUGE list of recipes is one that is near and dear to my heart.  It's a French classic, it's the perfect dish for these cold Winter days we're experiencing here in Melbourne and it's my sort of comfort food at its very best.  It also happens to be one of the very first French dishes I tried my hand at.....

I'd like to introduce you to Sarah, the brains behind The Pajama Chef.  I love that Sarah learnt to bake cookies at her grandma's knee (very envious) and I love that she would wear pajamas all day, every day if she could.  A girl after my own heart.  I also love that Sarah is my secret blog for this month's Secret Recipe Club.

Choosing this month's recipe was a toss up.  I was craving her Cilantro/Lime Hummus, but then I saw three little words that for some unknown reason make me smile, clap my hands and wiggle my bum at the same time every time.
