WELLNESS PRINCIPLE 2 : Water

Not only do I hydrate with distilled water (and adding in bio-available minerals), but I hydrate through “eating” water.  What I mean, is by eating more water-rich plant foods like cucumber, lettuce, fresh berries and melons - all of which have over 90% water.

You see, the water that’s trapped in these fresh plant foods also contains a myriad of vitamins, minerals and fibres that help our body to absorb more water more slowly – meaning we’re more hydrated for longer periods of time.  This process also comes with a multitude of additional benefits from boosting our immune system, transporting oxygen, fat and glucose to our muscles as well as supporting our body to digest food and get rid of waste.

Foods rich in water include fresh:

  • cucumber

  • lettuce

  • berries

  • melons

  • grapefruit

  • peaches

  • cranberries

  • oranges

  • celery

  • green capsicum/pepper

  • spinach
