Only 2 1/2 hours away by train, we couldn't resist a little adventure travelling through the vineyards to the big city in the west.

Bordeaux is large, busy, dirty and absolutely charming.  I was hooked the moment we arrived and wandering the narrow curvy streets, not knowing which direction we were heading or where we'd end up was a true delight.

I bought French linen and a little something special for my finger.  Something I'll be able to look at each day and remember what a magical day we had.

As much as I truly loved this city, I was grateful to be heading back to the quite pace of Beynac.

Our GentleGgiant met us at the train station to take us home.
